Rated 3 out of 5 by from Loses charge after sitting unused 2-3 weeks Not as advertised where site says it should retain its charge for up to one year in storage. Also, find the other reviews hard to believe since this product wasn't available until Dec 2015.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Loses Charge Saw some bad reviews but was hoping they were wrong. Purchased the Generator 1200 late Feb. 2016 and have had for ~1 week - using daily. 2 times now the generator has lost a substantial amount of battery charge (50%) with no energy use. I will continue to test for a few days to ensure I did not deplete the battery by mistake but if this still occurs, will return it. Also, loud sound upon start-up of the AC invertor - disappears after 20 seconds and normal fan sound kicks in. Also, there is a fan sound. My Goal Zero Yeti had no fan noise. The generator 1200 fan comes on and stays on the ENTIRE time the AC invertor is on and the fan is loud. This was supposed to be a quiet generator. If I wanted a noisy generator that loses or does not maintain charge, would have spent far less on gas generator. Thinking of returning and buying the Goal Zero Yeti 1250 instead (only thing holding me back is the weight of the 1250 but it is VERY reliable and you can count on it).I will try Enerplex again if they fix all these issues and will retract this post if my on-going product testing does not reproduce the charge loss experienced 2 times in 1 week.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Remarkable Product! I bought this product six months ago - along with Kicker IV solar panels - and they have exceeded my expectations by far. Unlike a gas generator, it is quiet, eco friendly, and economical - sunlight is free. It gives my family and me peace of mind knowing we have a reliable source of emergency power for occasional power outages. Every home should have one.

Is this generator compatible with Renogy solar panels such as Renogy 100 watt 12V solar panel?

Asked by: pjetcheverry
Absolutely! The Renogy 100 panels work well with the Gen 1200. Because the Renogy 100watt panels have an MC4 output and adapter is needed. We advise an MC4>8.0 mm adapter, in combination with a 8.0mm>7.4mm adapter. Contact for further details.

How long will it keep my arb fridge / freezer 50 running on one full charge ?

Asked by: Hightimez
According to the ARB website, they advise: No external power transformers required to operate the fridge on 12v DC, 24v DC or 110v AC*. The duty time and amp draw will be determined by the ambient temperature. Where practical and possible, bring the freezer fridge to the required temperature where a limitless power source is available.Looking at the power draw on this particular unit, using the AC power connector it pulls 7amps @ 12V = 84Watts. Using this info, with a 1200Whr capacity you could keep your freezer running for quite a long time. Conservatively I would estimate a solid 8-10 hours.

Am I able to add additional 12v batteries to increase running time with this generator? For example a couple Optima 55ah deep cycle batteries?

Asked by: Mike D
But it can charge via 12V, so, in theory you could connect a couple deep cycle batteries together, put a cigarette lighter on them and plug this into that. Not ideal but it'll extend the range of the unit.

Do I have to flip a switch to use 110v AC outlets on the generator or just plug the item in?  Do you include a DC charging adapter to charge the generator from a wall outlet?  Finally do you recommend fully discharging the generator before re-charging?

Asked by: Rex60
Thanks for your inquiry. Yes, the Generatr needs to be turned on and the AC switched to ON before power will be sent to the AC outlets. A wall adapter is included with the unit. The Generatr does not need to be fully discharged before recharging.

You can ru 110 volts appliances on your power bank, at how much Ampere, or what would be the inverter capable of to supply, a constant 1000 watts for how long? 1200 Watt hours / 110 = 10 Amps for 1 hour  or 2 amps for 5 h is that right

Asked by: Rveuropeontour
Thanks for your inquiry! The Generatr has a 1000W maximum output. The total capacity of the battery will vary depending on load. Drawing a constant 1000W, the Generatr will last around an hour, depending on the conditions of the battery.
